Your main functions:

  • Ownership for an optimum and well-equipped production infrastructure and workplaces and efficient manufacturing processes for producing our high-technology optical modules
  • Head a team of process engineers and production technicians that define, develop, build, validate, and constantly optimize the production system and can also build small prototype series
  • Define, lead, and successfully execute projects in operations with full budget, deliverable, and timeline responsibility
  • Scout for, evaluate and introduce new production technologies that could lift our production capabilities to the next level and provide better product at lower cost
  • Collaborate with the COO, the Head of Operations and Procurement to define the production and supply chain strategy regarding internal production capabilities, infrastructure, and equipment
  • Collaborate with Sales, Program Management, and Procurement in defining the assembly offering and estimating and quoting the manufacturing engineering service, investment and product cost required to realize it
  • Cooperate with R&D and Procurement to define supply chain and production concepts early during product engineering and to ensure good design for manufacturing and assembly
  • Realize the production build-up and ramp-up part of the design transfer process together with your team, R&D and Purchasing and validate the production processes according to the IVD regulatory requirements in collaboration with Quality & Regulatory
  • Collaborate in the lifecycle management of the optical modules to assure their value to our customers, to cope with component obsolescence and to adapt production capabilities and capacities as needed
  • Realize the infrastructure and processes to service, calibrate and repair modules during the lifecycle
  • Your entrepreneurial thinking drives for results to achieve high first pass yield, low cost, on-time delivery, and other key metrics

Your profile:

  • Technical apprenticeship with EFZ or equivalent degree and additional bachelor’s level engineering degree
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and process engineering, ideally in OEM IVD and medical industry with at least 5 years in a project or team leader position
  • Excellence focused and hands-on business mentality with strong leadership and team player skills to achieve optimum results, create impact and motivate the team
  • Proven record in managing the build-up of production and inspection equipment and processes in a regulatory environment with high quality standards and knowledge of adjacent functions like after-sales service and purchasing
  • Strong analytical, conception and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan, organize and supervise execution
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Willingness to travel up to 5-10%
