Marco Gadola

Chairman of the Board

Marco Gadola is the Chairman of the Board for Volpi Group. He brings extensive leadership experience from the life sciences and medical technology industries, having served as CEO of Straumann Group from 2013 to 2019 and as CFO and Regional Head Asia Pacific at Panalpina. Mr. Gadola also holds several non-executive board positions at international companies in the healthcare and industrial sectors. He studied Business Administration and Economics at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

Max Kunz

Vice-Chairman of the Board and Owner

Max Kunz is the Vice-Chairman of the Board for Volpi Group, which he has acquired in 2007. From 2007 until 2022 Max Kunz was acting in the role of the CEO for Volpi Group. Before the acquisition of Volpi he held international business management and sales positions focused on electrical engineering and consulting at ABB AG and Zühlke AG. Mr. Kunz holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, USA.

Christoph Bohli

CEO and Member of the Board

Christoph Bohli is CEO, Board member and Shareholder of Volpi Group. He was appointed to Volpi's Board of Directors in 2007, was Chairman of the Board until 2015 and in 2018 he operationally joined the company as CFO. Before joining the management of Volpi Team, Mr. Bohli was Head of Cash Equity Sales Switzerland at Credit Suisse, responsible for various IPOs on the Swiss stock market, held senior positions in research at Bank Sarasin AG and Berenberg Bank AG and started his professional career in the Audit at Ernst & Young. He originally earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich, Switzerland and is the proud father of 4 sons.

Christoph Dürmüller

Member of the Board

Christoph Dürmüller joined Volpi’s Board of Directors in 2008, acted as Chairman between 2015 and 2023, and is a Volpi Group Shareholder. Between 1995 and 2018 he worked for Zuehlke, an international engineering and consulting group with currently more than 1900 technology and business experts in Europe and Asia, where he took part in a management buyout in 2000, then headed up the management consulting business as a CEO and member of the Group Executive Committee before he became member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Dürmüller started his career with various expert and management positions at Novartis and ABB. He holds a master degree in mechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Tech-nology in Zurich, Switzerland and an Executive MBA from St. Gallen University, Switzerland.

Richard Ritter

Chief Financial Officer

Richard Ritter is the Chief Financial Officer of Volpi Group. With over 15 years of experience in financial leadership—including finance and controlling, M&A, ERP implementation, and compliance—he brings strong expertise in finance strategy and operations. He is a certified public accountant and holds an M.A. from the University of Zurich. He has worked across both manufacturing and service industries and drives sustainable growth and transparency across the company.

Thomas Lanz

Head of R&D

Thomas Lanz took over as Head of Research and Development Volpi Group as of March 2025. He first joined Volpi in 2020 as Lead Systems Engineer, bringing his expertise in optoelectronics and systems engineering to the development of advanced optical measurement solutions. In 2022 he was appointed Head of Optical Measurement Systems. In addition, he has been leading the integration of generative AI tools and agile methodologies. Before joining Volpi, Mr. Lanz worked in the development of optical sensor solutions for process analytics at Mettler-Toledo. Earlier in his career, he conducted research on thin-film optoelectronics in display and photovoltaic applications, with stints in Korea and Sweden. With a PhD in Photonics from EPFL and an MSc in Physics from ETH Zurich, Mr. Lanz brings a deep technical foundation and a strong commitment to innovation.

Simon Langhart

Chief Strategy Officer

Simon Langhart is Chief Strategy Officer at Volpi Group. In this role, he drives Volpi's long-term strategic direction, leads senior business development with key global accounts, and represents the company externally in industry and stakeholder forums. He joined the Volpi Business Development team in 2018, was promoted to Head of Sales & Marketing in January 2020, and appointed Chief Strategy Officer in 2025. Prior to joining Volpi, Mr. Langhart worked for Altran (Capgemini), providing technology consulting for global pharmaceutical and medical diagnostics companies, and QIAGEN, where he held a variety of global positions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Zurich, Switzerland.
